Grace is not just a gift we receive but it is also a posture and position we must decide to take. Grace is a lifestyle and a way of display. Let us dive into Psalm 84:11 and unpack what the grace of God is and what it does for us.
Psalm 84:11
For the Lord God is a sun and a shield; The Lord bestows grace and favor and honor; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
God does not promise to give us everything that we think is good, but He will NOT WITHHOLD what is permanently good. I love this because the goodness of God is not the world’s standard of good. The goodness of God is eternal, living, transaction, and transformative. The sun is symbolic of the Lord’s comforting presence. It is a symbol of hope and a promise that we can hold unto no matter what the circumstances. When the Light of God overshadows you, this is a place of safety and protection. The enemy cannot find you hidden in the Lord, for He is our shield. The grace of God is bestowed upon you and it is an honor, a right, or a gift for you, His child. He will give us the means to walk along His paths, but we must DO the walking. When we obey Him, he will NOT hold anything back that will help us serve Him. When you allow the ways of God to be part of your life everything changes inside and out. Can you see the importance of the grace of God and why we need it? Grace gives us the supernatural ability to withstand the hardest hardship. The grace of God enables you to continue during the storm. The grace of God helps you to quietly surrender to the Lord and His way. The grace of God keeps you. This free gift from God you will overcome and have the victory.
Pause and ask the Holy Spirit to pour out fresh grace onto and into every part of your life. Receive this new portion of grace, every drop.
John 1:16
For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace
The grace of God is full of His power. He will fulfill His word over your life. You will then be able to extend grace towards those who offend you and it is only because of His grace (1 Corinthians 3:10). His grace covers us and it is for our benefit always. Paul faced trials and suffering and even preached about the grace of God. It spreads out as the praise and thanksgiving and should continuously to flow out of our mouths. This is a key. It is from our praise and thanksgiving that unlocks an outpouring of grace. God’s grace cannot be earned. It is freely given. Praise the Lord. We have nothing to do with earning grace, but it has everything to do with the Lord alone. Grace is a part of God’s character. Grace is the unmerited favor of God towards man. Grace is favor. The grace of God is glorifying His ways. For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. Grace is the quality of being well meaning kindness. Grace should be evident in your life. It is good fruit. In the Greek, grace is translated to “khen”, which means kindness, generosity, and gratitude for good gifts. The Hebrew word “charis” is used for grace and it means the Divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in our life. Allow the grace of God to transform your thoughts and your words. In Psalm 45:2 it talks about “lips of grace,” our mouths should be filled with grace. What does that look and sound like; our encouragement to one another. And we reflect the goodness of God and show compassion. Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and healing to the bones (Proverbs 16:24).
Hebrew 12:15
Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no one poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.
In Exodus 34:6, God describes Himself as gracious. God is gracious, He is compassionate and He is kind. Grace is full of mercy. His grace shows that He sees you and loves you. He delights in you and you are His treasure. In Proverbs 3:22, God’s wisdom is compared to a necklace an ornament of khen, an ornament of grace. Take a moment to put on the ornament of grace around your neck. It is for your benefit as well as it draws people to you. In Genesis 6:8, Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Noah had the favor of God upon his life and so he received protection and deliverance, not only for himself but also for his family. When you are connected to the favor of God you are connected to the grace of the Lord. Let the grace of God transform your family, neighborhood, city, state and nation.
Let's Pray:
Lord, teach us to receive the fullness of grace in our lives. Thank You for the perfect gift of grace. Pour out grace in a new measure in my life. Holy Spirit help me to give grace to those around me. Help me to have grace for myself. Thank You, Lord, for the gift of grace. In your name, Jesus. Amen.
Grace is the supernatural favor of God to be all that He has called you to do and to be. I hope that you feel encouraged to continue to move forward. Scriptures to meditation on:
Numbers 6:24
The Lord bless you, and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance on you, and give you peace.
Malachi 4:2
But for you who fear My name [with awe–filled reverence] the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go forward and leap [joyfully] like calves [released] from the stall.”
I recieved John 1:16 from the Holy Spirit this morning during my time with the Lord. Not only that, within the past couple of days I saw a picture in my mind while my eyes were closed of a girl leaping joyfully ( Malachi 4:2). If I could show my journal and the things I recieve from the Holy Spirit that confirm what I read, or hear from church, or any of Pastor Carina's videos, you would be amazed. God has so intimately tied my spiritual journey to Trumpets of Tirzah, I almost feel like I am a flower that grows here🌸 right alongside my beautiful sisters in Christ🤍
So beautiful… Gods grace is glorious!
Thank you God for your grace and mercy.
Thank you Shanae for such a beautiful explanation of Gods Grace. I love how it is a decision of posture and position we must take. Giving us hope and reminding us of His promises.
