Embrace Your Renewal

As I reflect on the different topics we've immersed ourselves in this year, I'm struck by how transformative it has been to let the Word of God penetrate deep within our hearts. The journey of diving into God's truth, allowing it to shape, refine and renew us, is truly remarkable. This year, we have intentionally prioritized the Word of God to transform our hearts, minds and lives. As we move into the topic for this month "Made New," I feel an overwhelming sense of expectation, excitement and responsibility. I pray you feel the same as we embrace this new season.

This month’s focus is on walking into the new—like Queen Esther, who prepared herself to step into her destiny. Esther didn’t stumble into greatness; she submitted herself to a season of preparation. She accepted the help of those around her, trusted the process of refinement, and allowed herself to be cleansed, healed and taught. Through her story, we glean a powerful truth: instead of dwelling on past pain or bitterness, Esther postured herself to move forward with grace and faith. One of the most fascinating aspects of the book of Esther is that the name of God isn’t mentioned directly. Yet, His presence is evident in every detail of her life. This is a beautiful reminder that God is always near, even when we don’t explicitly see Him. He has been working behind the scenes to transform and renew us. As you walk in faith, believe that God is making you a new creation in Christ. Trust in His Word and the process He’s guiding you through.

What Does It Mean to Be Made New in Christ?

Being made new is about restoration, renewal and transformation. It’s a fresh start and a new beginning. To be made new in Christ means to be refreshed, restored, and redefined by Him. Take a moment now. Pause; place your hand over your heart and thank the Lord for the transformation that has already taken place within you. Declare this prayer: "Lord, complete the good work You have begun in me. I want to move into this new season, fully transformed and renewed in You and with You. Amen." If you’ve journeyed with us through the year, reflecting on each month’s topic, know that every step has been intentional. Each teaching has been like a spiritual bath, washing you in the truth of God’s Word. December, our final month, brings it all together with the glorious promise of being made new. This is a divine culmination—a season to walk boldly into the renewed life Christ has prepared for you. As a believer we hold onto the sure promise of renewal.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].

This verse holds an incredible promise. As we partner with the Lord, we are transformed. The old has passed away, and new life has come. It’s not just about behavior modification—it’s a complete spiritual renovation. The King James definition of "renewed" is particularly striking: “to restore to a good state after decay or deprivation; to rebuild; to repair.” Notice that renewal often follows a season of brokenness. This means no matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done, renewal is available to you in Christ. The transformative power of the blood of Jesus makes this possible. It cleanses, restores and paves the way for new beginnings. Trust in this promise: you are being made new. Letting Go to receive the new. In this season, it’s essential to release what no longer serves God’s purpose in your life. Sometimes, we hold on tightly to old habits, relationships, or thought patterns, fearing the unknown. But to fully embrace the new, we must let go.

Jesus confirms in Revelation 21:5, "Behold, I make all things new." Let go of fear, bitterness, or anything hindering your growth and make room for the Lord to fill those spaces with His purpose and His presence. Embrace the fire of God, which burns away impurities, and trust that His refining process is for your good. His fire separates what needs to be left behind, making way for the new. Walk confidently in your identity.

As we step into this renewed identity, we must fix our minds on the truth of God’s Word.

Romans 12:2

And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].

Every day, make the decision to fix your thoughts on the Lord. Walking in your renewed identity means walking in divine nature. It’s not about striving in your own strength but trusting in the work Christ has done in you. Believe that He has made you whole. Trust that He has done a good work within you, and live with the confidence that you are His masterpiece.

Steps to Embrace Renewal

  1. Submit to the Process

Like Esther, we must submit to the Lord’s preparation process. Allow Him to

refine, shape, and renew you through His Word and Spirit.

  2. Renew Your Mind Daily

Meditate on Scripture and reject lies that contradict God’s truth. Fill your heart

with His promises and let them guide your decisions.

  3. Release the Old

Let go of anything that doesn’t align with God’s purpose. Surrender fear, shame,

and anything that keeps you from embracing the new.

  4. Walk in Faith

Trust that God is working in and through you. Even if you can’t see the full

picture, believe in His promises and take steps of faith.

  5. Celebrate the Transformation

Rejoice in the work God has done in you. Share your testimony and encourage

others to embrace their own journey of renewal.

As we close out this year and move into the next, let us walk confidently in the truth that we are made new in Christ. Like Esther, we have been prepared for such a time as this. God’s transformative work in us is not just for ourselves but for His glory and purpose. It is time to embrace the new beloved and move forward hand in hand with the Lord. Living victoriously. Take time this month to reflect on the journey you’ve been on. Thank God for His faithfulness, and step into this new season with boldness.

Remember, His promise is sure: you are a new creation, and all things have been made

new!

Let's Pray:

Lord, thank You for making me new. I trust in Your process and Your promises. Help me to walk in the fullness of my renewed identity in Christ. Use me for Your glory. Lord, I ask that you would position me exactly where I need to be. Remove obstacles, damaging cycles and pitfalls, in Jesus name. Lord, I thank You for the season of blessings that is here. I thank You for the rich harvest. Thank You Jesus for setting us free and breaking every chain.

In Jesus name, Amen.

Be encouraged, be bold, and embrace the new life God has prepared for you. You are right on time!
